Sitter Squad helps teens start and run babysitting clubs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@sittersquad.app.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: email address, password hash, and authentication tokens handled by our auth provider.
• Profile data: display name, age, bio, profile photo, certifications, and role in a squad (founder or sitter).
• Club data: squad name, city, school or area, tagline, hourly rate, cover photo, about text, and member list.
• Booking data: parent name, phone, email, sit date, time, number of children, notes, and assigned sitter.
• Location data: general city or area information to help parents find nearby squads. We do not continuously track location in the background.
• Incident data: photos and timestamps captured through the in-app incident log for safety documentation.
• Reviews: ratings and written feedback from parents, plus the city they were visiting from, if shared.
• Device data: basic device and browser information needed to run the app, such as IP address and device type.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to operate the app, match parents with squads, let squads manage members and bookings, promote safety, send service notifications, and improve the app. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

4. Sharing and subprocessors

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the app:

• Lovable Cloud / Supabase — for auth, database, storage, and hosting.
• Payment providers — if and when we enable paid features, a payment processor will handle transactions.

We may share information when required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies today.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep it for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention reasons. Squad profile data associated with a club may remain if other members rely on it, but identifiable personal details can be removed on request.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us at the email above and we will respond within the time required by law.

8. Children's privacy

Sitter Squad is designed for teenagers and the families who hire them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information without consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including encrypted connections, access controls, and Row Level Security on our database. No system is 100% secure, so we encourage users to choose strong passwords and keep their devices secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The latest version will always be posted at this URL.
